Solutions developed at the Smart Metropolis Project were presented in the second edition of the #DesenvolveSC Hackaton, held on August 18-20, 2017 in Florianopolis, Santa Catarina, Brazil. Grounded on public safety, the event was realized by the Center of Informatics and Automation of Santa Catarina (CIASC) in partnership with the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), the Secretariat of Sustainable Economic Development (SDS), and the Secretariat of Public Safety (SSP) of Santa Catarina.
During the event program, Prof. Frederico Lopes, coordinator of Smart Metropolis, was an invited painelist in a session about public safety, on August 18. In this panel, solutions developed within the project were presented, especially the ones regarding public safety, to inspire the development of open-source technological proposals for this context in the Hackaton. Prof. Frederico also participated in the jury assigned to evaluate the created solutions, in an environment for innovation and collaboration between Government and academia
